Massenet's Manon: Paris National Opera
Paris, Opéra Bastille — Main Auditorium
About the Event
Experience opera like never before in this astonishing performance of the masterwork by Massenet at the Paris National Opera.
The young Des Grieux falls in love with Manon, who is intended for the convent by her family. He kidnaps her and they both discover Paris, its libertines and its vertigo. Will their passion resist?
Beautiful and uncompromising, the vision by Vincent Huguet is sculpted by Dan Ettinger's passionate baton, at the head of the best performers. Such a project also requires an exceptional Manon: Pretty Yende and Sofia Fomina will share the title role.
Comic opera in five acts on a libretto by Henri Meilhac and Philippe Gille, based on the novel by Abbé Prévost, L'Histoire du chevalier Des Grieux and de Manon Lescaut.
