Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in Naples
Naples, Complesso Monumentale Donnaregina — Chiesa di Santa Maria Donnaregina
About the Event
Carl Orff's Carmina Burana will be performed in the prestigious Museo Diocesano di Napoli offering a unique experience that combines music, dance, and singing.
Conducted by Maestro Lorenzo Macrì, the Orchestra Sinfonica Città di Roma will accompany the Coro Accademia Vocale Romana and the Coro La Fenice in a stunning performance of one of the 20th century's most iconic masterpieces. The work, inspired by a collection of medieval poems, explores themes of love, fortune, and fate with a powerful emotional intensity, thanks to Orff’s masterful composition.
On stage, soloists Elena Memoli (Soprano), Enrico Torre (Countertenor), and Alessio Quaresima Escobar (Bass) will bring the famous arias to life, while pianists Tei Kim and Alessandro Romagnoli will enhance the performance with the intensity of the piano's sound. The symphonic percussion, the heart of the piece, will add a unique rhythmic energy.
Completing the experience, the choreography by Minea De Mattia will bring movement and theatricality to the performance, making every note and word even more powerful.
