About the Event
Braimah Kanneh‐Mason, alongside Plínio Fernandes and Hadewych van Gent, will showcase an array of their preferred musical pieces, spanning from Ernest Bloch to Astor Piazzolla.
The venue:
Opened in 2007, 229 is a versatile event space located on Great Portland Street. It has been the backdrop for a variety of events, including live concerts, dance nights, award presentations, comedy acts, fashion shows, gala dinners, and weekend‐long festivals.
Managed by International Students House (ISH), all profits from 229 are re‐invested to support their vision: to offer every young individual the chance to excel, regardless of their background.
The music:
Following their sold‐out introductory tour in early 2024, Plínio and Braimah will return, accompanied by acclaimed Dutch cellist Hadewych van Gent. Together, they will introduce a fresh repertoire.
From the works of Swiss‐American composer Ernest Bloch to the Latin allure of Astor Piazzolla, the trio is set to deliver both renowned classics and newly commissioned works in innovative arrangements tailored for their distinctive blend of violin, cello and classical guitar.
