Daniil Margulis Born in Ankara, Turkey, in 2000, Turkish Double Bassist Daniil Margulis is the Grand Prize winner of the 8th International Caspian Artist competition and a Finalist in the 2017 Silk Street Sinfonia Young Soloist Competition in London. He debuted publicly at age 7 with a solo performance on Turkish 'NTV.' After completing studies at Bilkent University Music and Ballet School, he attended the Yehudi Menuhin School on a full scholarship under Professor Caroline Emery. His career includes numerous solo performances and a rich orchestral repertoire. Margulis has served as the principal Double Bassist for the RCMJD Symphony Orchestra, YMS String Orchestra, and Ankara and Bilkent Youth Symphony Orchestras. He has also been a visiting tutti member of Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, performing under conductors like Peter Stark, Gurer Aykal, Oscar Colomina i Bosch, and Elşad Bagirov, and he toured the Balkan States with the TURKSOY Youth Chamber Orchestra.
