About the Event
St Giles Cathedral is set to host the inaugural Edinburgh Royal Mile International Piano Series, an exhilarating new concert event that will present all 32 of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas throughout 2024. Showcasing top performances by renowned UK and international pianists, these concerts offer a unique chance to experience some of the world's finest piano repertoire, as curated by our esteemed guest performers. Taking place in the stunning, candlelit St Giles Cathedral, which now features a newly installed Steinway Grand Piano, this promises to be a memorable musical experience! Located in the heart of the Royal Mile, St Giles is surrounded by numerous bars and restaurants to complete your evening.
Pianist Dominic Degavino has graced stages across the UK and beyond, delivering solo performances at prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall and Southbank Centre in London as a Park Lane Group artist. He has also performed at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, as well as at the Lichfield and Edinburgh festivals, among others. His concerto appearances include performances with the Manchester Camerata and RNCM Symphony Orchestra.
Dominic has garnered significant competition accolades, earning prizes at events like the Concours International de Piano d'Epinal in France, the J.N. Hummel International Piano Competition in Slovakia, and the Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists Competition, as well as the Royal Over‐Seas League Arts Competition in the UK. He is also a distinguished recipient of the RNCM Gold Medal. Dominic has extensively performed as part of the Tillett Trust DEBUT and Countess of Munster Trust recital schemes.
