Celebrating a fresh collaboration, the ensemble introduces conductor Petr Popelka and the Wiener Symphoniker. Handling the intricate and enchanting violin concerto by Korngold is renowned French violinist Renaud Capuçon. The performance's latter part features cherished waltz tunes, opening with Josef Strauss’s celebrated “Dynamiden” waltz and concluding energetically with the “Rosenkavalier” suite by Richard Strauss, a piece first performed by the Wiener Symphoniker in 1946.
