Experience the harmonious sounds of classical composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Pachelbel, and Vincenzo Bellini in the revered and globally acclaimed Chiesa della Badia di Sant’Agata in Catania.
The Catania Chamber Orchestra, renowned for its dedication to the revival of traditional Italian classical and lyrical music, comprises accomplished professors from top Sicilian conservatories and exceptional young talents from Catania. These performers have excelled in major national and international opera and symphonic competitions. For the 2025 Musical Season, they present an intriguing series of concerts for orchestral ensemble and singers.
Originating from the compositions of Catania's celebrated composer, Vincenzo Bellini, the concerts evolve to narrate the story of late 19th and early 20th‐century opera in which Bellini was a pivotal figure. The repertoire spans from Vivaldi to Verdi, Rossini to Puccini, and includes Donizetti, Bizet, among others, crafting an extraordinary expedition through classical music and Italian opera.
Hosted in the historic and grand Church of La Badia of Sant’Agata, adjacent to the Cathedral where Maestro Bellini is interred, the concerts will take place. Besides its beautifully maintained interiors, The Church of La Badia of Sant’Agata boasts a panoramic terrace accessible via an internal lift. From this vantage point, visitors can absorb the breathtaking views of Catania’s enchanting cityscape.
