Anouar Brahem
Brussels, Palais des Beaux‐Arts — Henry le Boeuf Hall
About the Event
Every oud enthusiast today can trace their influence back to Anouar Brahem. Esteemed for his eleven albums with ECM Records, this Tunisian virtuoso has revitalized a millennium‐old Arab musical heritage by intertwining it with jazz, Western classical, and various Eastern music forms. Additionally, he has succeeded in drawing top‐tier talent from these realms. Continuing his trend, Brahem will be gracing Bozar with a remarkable quartet: the legendary bassist Dave Holland and the versatile guitarist Django Bates – both previous collaborators – along with cellist Anja Lechner, whose performances seamlessly connect the modern with the traditional, and the East with the West. This exceptional ensemble forms the heart of Brahem’s upcoming ECM project.
