Bologna Festival: Gianluca Bergamasco, pianoforte (Premio Venezia 2024)
Bologna, Chiostro della Basilica di Santo Stefano — Main
About the Event
For an extraordinary evening of piano classics, visit the impressive Chiostro della Basilica di Santo Stefano in Bologna to hear the masterpieces of Franz Schubert, Frederic Chopin and Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev. This year, Bologna Festival continues a rich tradition by hosting the winner of one of the major national piano competitions, the “Premio Venezia”, which in the past has launched outstanding performers such as Filippo Gamba, Maurizio Baglini, Roberto Prosseda, Giuseppe Albanese, Mariangela Vacatello, Leonora Armellini, and many others. Last year, the first prize went to Gianluca Bergamasco, born in Chioggia in 2001, a student of Michele Liuzzi and Giorgio Farina. His recital forms a stylistic bridge with great coherence between the early 19th and early 20th centuries, pairing Schubert and Chopin with the modernist classicism of Sergei Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 6.
