Bologna Festival: Fülöp Ránki
Bologna, Chiostro della Basilica di Santo Stefano — Main
About the Event
Step back into history and experience the grandeur of piano music at the beautiful Chiostro della Basilica di Santo Stefano in Bologna.
Fülöp Ránki is, quite literally, a child of the arts: his father, Dezső Ránki, is one of Hungary’s greatest pianists of his generation, and his mother, Edit Klukon, is a pianist, pedagogue, and teacher. Little Fülöp began playing the piano at the age of three, without yet knowing music, and by the age of eight, he was accepted into the Pál Járdányi School in Budapest before entering the Liszt Academy. Now, at thirty years old, he still performs alongside his father and mother, but has also begun an independent career that has already taken him to perform around the world. His recital explores all facets of the complex technical and stylistic prism of Franz Liszt’s “transcendental” pianism.
