Patricia Kopatchinskaja & Fazıl Say at Philharmonie Berlin
Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin — Kammermusiksaal
About the Event
“A stage animal, driven by an irrepressible curiosity and a radical need for expression” (BR‐Klassik). She is wild, cheeky and wonderful, sometimes theatrical, original and experimental. And yet always with both feet on the ground of international stages — even barefoot. Patricia Kopatchinskaja's theatrical appearance is not the only way she shows that she does not care about conventions. Her extraordinary character, coupled with her virtuoso technical skill and natural musicality, has brought the violinist to the top of the world.
Her long‐standing chamber music partner Fazıl Say is also regarded as an unusual musical personality. The Turkish pianist touches the listener in an immediate and gripping way that is rare in the world of classical music. Deutschlandfunk just described the two musicians as “soul mates”.
On this evening, the duo will present their own new compositions alongside well‐known chamber music repertoire, which will once again showcase their impressive versatility.
