About the Event
MEAM invites you to immerse yourself in a series of exclusive 'unplugged' concerts as part of the Sunday Sounds series, featuring an array of musical genres from indie to flamenco fusion, and from tango to pop. Embark on a distinctive auditory adventure where, as is customary at MEAM, music melds seamlessly with art and history.
Experience the bandoneon and guitar duo, an intimate and authentic expression of Tango in its purest form. Mercadante and Battaglia, experts in the music of Río de la Plata, guide us through the iconic works of Tango, highlighting the contributions of legendary composers and performers like Carlos Gardel, Anibal Troilo, and Astor Piazzolla. These two Buenos Aires musicians have collaborated on different projects for 30 years, originating with the formation of the Trío Argentino de Tango alongside double bass player Andrés Serafini. Their journey has resulted in four CDs: “T.A.T.” and “Revolucionario” with the Trío Argentino de Tango and “Tachar Nostalgias” and “Cortita y al pie” as a duo.
