Nijinsky at Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden
Baden‐Baden, Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden
About the Event
John Neumeier and Vaslav Nijinsky: an affinity between two ballet geniuses from different eras that has itself long since become historical. The influence of the Russian dancer and choreographer from the beginning of the 20th century is central to the American's work and aesthetics. John Neumeier keeps a private Nijinsky museum in his apartment, because for him his Russian predecessor is “the greatest visionary in the art of ballet — and the most tragic”. The ballet “Nijinsky” is both a homage and an encyclopaedia of Neumeier's own style: you will never be finished with this masterpiece.
