About the Event
Only at the Vienna Musikverein and the Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden: Diana Damrau's birthday greeting to the great Austrian operetta king. The soprano, a Strauss fan since her earliest days as a singer, presents arias from his first four operettas, confirming the wisdom of Bellini, Handel and Verdi: Melodic talent develops most beautifully in youth. This special anniversary program for the 200th birthday of the composer was developed by “Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna”. Operetta specialist Ernst Theis conducts the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin with historical information.
