The Italian Gianandrea Noseda conducts at La Scala in Milan and the Metropolitan Opera in New York, while Mannheim‐born Hanna‐Elisabeth Müller has caused a sensation in Salzburg as Zdenka in Strauss' “Arabella” — and now both can be heard at the Festspielhaus with an all‐Strauss program, including the “Four Last Songs”. Strauss has composed the purest silk here, setting late summer rain on wilting flowers to music. A dream of a concert program.
