Yoav Levanon & Emmanuel Tjeknavorian: Grieg's Piano Concerto & Brahms

In recent years, acclaimed top violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian has also been making increasing appearances as a conductor. Tonight he stands before the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra with Brahms' Fourth Symphony. Twenty‐year‐old piano prodigy Yoav Levanon will solo in Grieg's impressive Piano Concerto.

'At 19 years old, Israeli pianist Yoav Levanon already shows tremendous strength and maturity,' the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung said of the young pianist's impressive performance at the 2022 Europa Open Air in Frankfurt with Chopin's Second Piano Concerto. In the same year, he also signed an exclusive contract with Warner Classics. After his impressive debut at The Concertgebouw in 2023, Levanon returns to Amsterdam with one of Grieg's great masterpieces: the successful Piano Concerto, full of imposing chords and Norwegian folk melodies.

Brahms' Fourth Symphony with Emmanuel Tjeknavorian
This evening's second world star is 29‐year‐old Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, the star violinist who in recent years has also been presenting himself as an increasingly frequent conductor. He has conducted the Tonkünstler‐Orchester Wien and the Sinfonieorchester Basel, among others, and since 2024 he has been director of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano. He recently recorded Brahms' Violin Concerto as soloist, now Tjeknavorian leads the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra in the Fourth Symphony.
