About the Event
In the concert series Willem Brons presents (third season), Willem Brons, the éminence grise among Dutch pianists, introduces audiences to successful former students. The first concert of this season will be played by Martin Oei, participant of Willem Brons' 27th and 28th International Masterclasses.
Martin Oei put together this program with Willem Brons. It shows his versatility with pieces from both the classical period and the romantic period, these are works in which Oei feels completely at home. The construction of the program is a feast of acquaintance and recognition for the listener. Oei starts with a sonata by Haydn that is not often played on stage, even though it is one of Haydn's most beautiful and original compositions, and a good start to a concert. It is the prelude to well‐known works by Beethoven and Chopin, with Chopin's 24 Preludes as a tasteful finale.
