About the Event

Led by Irish conductor and composer Eímear Noone, the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie brings to life the music of countless gaming classics, including music from World of Warcraft composed by Noone. Call of Duty and Mario, World of Warcraft and Tetris, Final Fantasy VII and Fortnite: they all come along tonight. And more!

Iconic game music
For an evening July 13, the Concertgebouw will be completely dedicated to game music, a new genre within modern music. Game studios are paying increasing attention to the important role music plays in the digital worlds they create. Downright iconic are the soundtracks of game classics such as Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda or Fortnite. Millions of gamers get carried away by the soundscapes, theme songs and songs that accompany them in the virtual worlds of their favorite games.

World of Warcraft
Irish composer and conductor Eímear Noone is known for the compositions she created for games such as World of Warcraft, Starcraft II and Diablo III. Her work is known as emotional and cinematic, in which she can sound both grand and compelling and small and intimate. She is one of the first female conductors in a male‐dominated world and was the first female conductor to be allowed to perform at the Oscars ceremony. The Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie is a German symphony orchestra from Herford acclaimed for the way they know how to bring game music to life.
