Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 and Wagner's Liebestod
They are probably the most famous four notes in Western music history: the ta‐ta‐ta‐taaaa with which Beethoven begins his Fifth Symphony, and with which he then constantly ingeniously varies and experiments. As legendary as Beethoven's opening motif is the groundbreaking opening chord of the “Prelude” to Wagner's monumental opera Tristan und Isolde, also known as the “Tristan chord.

Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra
The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra is now a regular guest during the summer. This heroic freedom orchestra tours the world in defense of Ukraine's democracy and cultural heritage. 'The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra's strength lies in being there,' headlined Het Parool following their performance of Beethoven's Third Symphony, 'Eroica' in 2023. This time the orchestra, conducted by Keri‐Lynn Wilson, will play Beethoven's Fifth. In addition, Mothers of Kherson by Maxim Kolomiiets and Wagner's 'Liebestod' will be heard, with American soprano Rachel Willis‐Sørensen as soloist.
