The Swiss Connection: Stravinsky & Martin

About the Event
In 1935, Frank Martin won the commission to compose music for a new ballet to be performed outdoors in Zurich. The choreographer, however, found the music Martin had written for Die blaue Blume far too complex, and the piece lay in a drawer without orchestration until recently, when Bart Visman orchestrated it for the Saturday Matinee.
