La Mer by Debussy
Early this year, the young, talented musicians of the Orchestre Français des Jeunes made a big impression with Bartók's Duke Bluebeard's Castle, led by the inspiring conductor Kristiina Poska. As of this summer, she is the new musical director, and this will be celebrated with a debut performance by the orchestra in The Concertgebouw. On the lecterns is La mer, Debussy's imaginative portrait of the sea in three parts: a morning by the sea, the play of the waves and a dialogue of the wind with the sea.
