About the Event

Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Amsterdam's breathtaking De Waalse Kerk for the ultimate concert set to awake your understanding of music.

The composer Claude Debussy, with his picturesque sound world, was a great inspiration to many. Even pianist Biljana Urban, the creator of Concerts Littéraires, was captivated by the music of the famous French composer. She herself describes him as follows: “Debussy was an excellent pianist, student of a pupil of Chopin, and it is precisely through his works for piano that he is able to deeply touch the personal, the intimate. What Mallarmé did with poetry, Debussy created as a composer: seeking a range of sound, the ultimate art of finding the colors and timing…' Sounds complicated, but this literary concert makes everything clear.

You will hear beautiful piano works by Debussy combined with compelling stories and poetry about this magical world in this concert.
