About the Event

Experience an unforgettable musical journey through the epic world of Carmina Burana, presented by the renowned Festival Symphony Orchestra Berlin and the Junges Ensemble Berlin choir under the direction of the much‐acclaimed conductor Knut Andreas!
Immerse yourself in the powerful sounds and thrilling dynamics of this masterpiece for choir, soloists and orchestra, which is musically hard to beat with the force of its famous opening movement O Fortuna in honor of Fortuna, the goddess of fate.
From triumphant hymns to tender melodies, Carmina Burana transports you to a distant world full of passion, emotion and magical moments. The collection of song and drama texts set to music is today one of the most famous works by contemporary German composers.
It contains texts in Latin and German from the 11th and 12th centuries on worldly themes such as happiness, love, lust and gluttony. However, the texts were only partially used in the original and Orff set them to music in a completely new style, taking his cue from the music of the Middle Ages and its drone accompaniment and modal music based on the typical church modes of the time.
Be part of this musical spectacle and be enchanted by the virtuoso performance of the Festival Symphony Orchestra and the impressive vocal power of the Junges Ensemble Berlin choir. Under the sensitive direction of conductor Knut Andreas, you will experience a performance that you will remember for a long time to come.
