About the Event
The Year of Czech Music invites extraordinary projects. For example, to solemnly recall that Bedřich Smetana dreamed of becoming a concert pianist. It is a tempting dream, but the road is thorny and the outcome is in the stars. The young Czech generation, which includes Nora Lubbadová, Jan Schulmeister, Jan Čmejla and Matyáš Novák, certainly knows this. We welcome all of them to our World Piano Works series for the first time and we believe that this will certainly not be the last time. To ease their still young shoulders, each will take a quarter of the evening, but it is Czech music that will bring them together. But it's not just Smetana that is alive and well, Leoš Janáček and Adam Skoumal are equally part of it.
