Benfenati, Pierdomenico: Talents at Bologna Festival
About the Event
Valentina Benfenati, a violinist with exceptional talent, and Leonardo Pierdomenico, a pianist on the rise, dedicate their concert to the Boulanger sisters. Nadia (1887‐1979), a renowned teacher who influenced generations of musicians, and Lili (1893‐1918), the first female composer to win the prestigious Prix de Rome, are honored. The program includes Gabriel Fauré's inaugural Sonata, which was taught by both Nadia and Lili, and César Franck's Sonata in A major for violin and piano, a significant piece in French chamber music history.
