For its new season, the TranscenDanses series is playing the loyalty card. Crystal Pite will present the French premiere of her piece Angels' Atlas. Created for the National Ballet of Canada in 2020, the choreographer returns here to her powerful choreographic language, in which movement emerges from the depths of the dancers' bodies. Each of the dancers is a unique entity, carried along by an incredible energy reinforced by particularly effective lighting work, whether in pas de deux or ensembles. It's about life, death and the quest for the infinite — universal questions that can't help but challenge us, individually and collectively. Two other French premieres by Canadians James Kudelka and William Yong will also be performed during the evening.
