Bach — St John Passion at Church of St. Simon and St. Jude
Prague, Church of St. Simon and Jude (Kostel sv. Šimona a Judy) — Main concert hall
About the Event
Johann Sebastian Bach's St. John Passion needs no long introduction. It is hard to imagine Easter without them. You won't mistake his music for any other. Listening to it is like returning to a landscape that is familiar and close to our hearts. The crystalline purity of the music and the endless stream of harmonies against the dramatic text combine to create moments that leave us all breathless. So this year we will return together to places we know, but try to see them with different eyes. Director Matěj Forman's staging will offer us another dimension to the fantastic landscape of Bach's music and invite us deeper into the drama of the Easter story.
The performance takes place in collaboration with the Forman Brothers Theatre.
