Bach Christmas Oratorio Cantatas I‐III & VI at New Gasteig, Isarphilharmonie
Munich, Gasteig HP8, Isarphilharmonie
About the Event
Experience classical music like never before in this astonishing performance of Bach's Bach Christmas Oratorio Cantatas I‐III & VI at Munich's New Gasteig HP8, Isarphilharmonie.
For decades, the Bach Collegium München has guaranteed performances of the great Bach oratorios in Munich. During this time, prestigious amateur choirs such as the Mainz Bach Choir, the Chorgemeinschaft Neubeuern and the Munich Bach Choir have taken part in the performances.
From the 2019/2020 concert season, the Bach Collegium München decided to establish a professional choir of highly talented vocal students as part of a cooperation with the three Bavarian music academies in Munich, Nuremberg and Würzburg and to perform the sacred music of the Thomaskantor and other composers as the Bach Collegium München choir and orchestra. The establishment of the choir was made possible thanks to the generous support of Johannes Burges, a long‐time patron and curator of the Munich Concert Association. This makes it possible to realize an outstanding achievement in the field of promoting highly gifted musicians.
