Aspects of Nijinsky at Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden
Baden‐Baden, Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden
About the Event
Neumeier's ballets are performed by companies all over the world. The American choreographer is constantly developing his work, adapting to new dancer personalities and also keeping an eye on the history of the respective company. La Scala Ballet in Milan, for example, is closely linked to the history of ballet in Russia: From Milan, Enrico Cecchetti was appointed ballet master to St. Petersburg in the 19th century and later to Diaghilev's “Ballets Russes”. The Italian style influenced the Russian style — and therefore also Nijinsky's work, which is the focus of the evening.
