A New Look at Die Fledermaus: Dresdner Zwinger

About the Event

Experience Strauss' famous opera 'Die Fledermaus as a chamber opera in the Marble Hall of the Dresdner Zwinger.

'Die Fledermaus' by Johann Strauss is a lively comedy of mistaken identity and is considered the highlight of the 'golden operetta era'.
There is suspense, frivolous banter and funny but also sometimes bitter scenes, because after a rapid game of mistaken identity, a whole, richly hungover ball society ends up in prison.
Experience 'Die Fledermaus with a difference' — entertainingly presented by the Dresden Residence Orchestra and its soloists.

Practical Information

Wallpavillon
The concert hall in the Wall Pavilion is located on the upper level of the Dresden Zwinger opposite the Glockenspiel Pavilion. One path leads up from the inner courtyard of the Zwinger via curved steps. The second path leads from Theaterplatz over a small rampart — located to the right of the Alte Meister restaurant / Theaterplatz 1a and opposite the left side of the Semperoper Dresden — to the upper level. This access is barrier‐free, but only as far as the auditorium. There are three sandstone steps to climb. On concert days, signs will guide you to us. Due to the historical construction, the toilets and the hall are unfortunately not barrier‐free but only accessible via steps.
